Growing up it was almost a sin to eat lobster in any form, but especially steamed, at a restaurant. My father would mock tourists in their plastic bibs eating their bake stuffed or worse yet, "lazy man's lobster". When my Grandmother cooked lobster, she always asked one of the men to "do the deed", dropping them headfirst into the speckled enameled steaming pot. She just couldn't bring herself to do it. My clambake tray is a fun new take on the traditional paper placemats found at one of those restaurants we of course never ate at.
Made from laminated birch with the blueprint sealed under a melamine coat which makes the tray waterproof.
