A staple of a true New England wardrobe is an Irish-knit sweater. We had them from the time we were two until the time we stopped growing, passing them down and down and down. The creamy off white worsted wool paired with my Scottish kilts, Calvins in high school and my paint splattered khakis today is the centerpiece of any outfit.

I have chosen a bit of a lighter weight that is perfect for the shoulder seasons and layered up on the coldest of winter New England days.
