When New England fisherman weren't fishing they passed the time by doing handiwork that included making baskets, sailor's valentines and whittling old salts from small blocks of wood. I have a slight obsession with these little characters and three of my crew adorn these soft ornaments that can work moonlight at bag charms in the off season.
