Men's Wool Peacoat

No New England wardrobe is complete without a proper peacoat.  The history of this iconic jacket started in the 1800's with Dutch sailors wearing wool jackets.  The Dutch word "pij" meaning corse cloth and "pijjakker" for warmth.  The design was later adopted by the British and U.S. Navies for their durability and wind resistance.  The vertical pockets make it easy to access gloves.

This version has the same double-breasted design with signature anchor buttons and wide notched collar.  The thick, heavy wool is water repellent keeping weather at bay as they say.  Nautical flag detail on one sleeve makes it extra.
