My husband prefers to take notes in his phone while I prefer to write in a journal.  The act of putting pen to paper helps me remember things much better than typing into my phone.  I have dozens of journals from back in high school all the way until now.  My handwriting has evolved and my doodles on the margins help tell the story of where I was while taking the notes, dreaming & planning.
